This in-person and virtual streaming event will connect the censorship of National Park Service climate science to visible local stakes: rising seas, eroding shorelines, threatened wildlife, disappearing marshes, and the future of public lands throughout the New York metropolitan region.
We believe that preserving climate science, data, and information is a core mission of NPS, and we are stepping up to keep that mission alive through sharing the full and honest stories about what is happening within our national parks.

For the in-person and virtual events, we are honored to have Dr. V. Balaji as a guest speaker at 1:00 pm ET.
Dr. V. Balaji is a leading climate scientist and technology strategist working at the frontier of some of the world’s most urgent environmental challenges.
Over 25 years at Princeton University, he helped shape the field of climate modeling, including 18 years leading the Modeling Systems Division at NOAA’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory.
Among the first recipients of France’s Make Our Planet Great Again award in 2017, Balaji has advised leading scientific and climate institutions around the world.
