What do we do to stop the erasure of history and science at our parks? It’s been a terrible year for public lands and those who love them. Every day there is a new, horrible thing to be sad and angry about. But there is so much you can do! We talk to brilliant, inspiring grass roots organizers from Save Our Signs and Avenging the Ancestors Coalition about the ongoing saga of the President’s House in Philadelphia and how we can save our signs across the country.

On Valentine’s Day 2025, thousands of probationary federal employees were illegally fired, including rangers in the National Park Service. This was a cruel act, ending the careers of many passionate and skilled employees before they could truly start. Today, we honor and remember them by sharing their stories, and we will continue to fight for them.
***Correction!!! Around minute 44 or so, we mistakenly state that NOAA offered probationary workers the chances to be reinstates with backpay. Unfortunately, only a handful of people, roughly 40 instead of hundreds, were brought back who were considered to have passed their probationary period from the time of the initial and second firings. So sorry!***
